Autumn at KOS Lofoten
New Opening Hours, Cinnamon Buns and Elgvis
September is coming to Lofoten. The mountains are beginning to change colour, the evenings are getting darker, and KOS Lofoten is moving into its autumn rhythm too.
From 1 September, KOS Lofoten will be open Friday to Sunday, 11:00-16:00.
We might be reducing our opening days, but we’re certainly not reducing the kos.
Cinnamon buns every day we’re open
Some things are simply too important to mess with.
Our cinnamon buns will be available every day we’re open, alongside our apple and cinnamon cake, because if autumn in Lofoten had a flavour, we’re fairly sure cinnamon would be involved.
Alongside the regular favourites, we’ll have a changing selection of other freshly baked treats on rotation. Keep an eye out for things like pizzasnurr, a savoury Norwegian-style pizza swirl, and blåbærsnurr, our blueberry swirl.
The selection will change, which gives you an excellent excuse to come back and investigate. Strictly for research purposes, obviously.
Meet Elgvis, our resident moose
There’s also somebody new keeping an eye on proceedings.
Elgvis has entered the building.
Our magnificent moose now has pride of place on the wall at KOS Lofoten, and he’s already becoming part of the furniture. If you’re visiting Svolvær and looking for somewhere a little different to stop for coffee and cake, it’s difficult to beat drinking coffee under the watchful gaze of a Norwegian moose called Elgvis.
Photos are not only permitted, they’re practically compulsory.
Coffee, cake and good vibes in Svolvær
KOS isn’t supposed to feel like just another café.
We’re tucked away on Svinøya in Svolvær, surrounded by some of the scenery and history that makes Lofoten special. KOS is a place to warm up after exploring, meet people, plan your next adventure, grab a coffee, eat something good and simply hang out for a while.
Whether you’ve been hiking, photographing Lofoten, wandering around Svolvær or you’ve simply developed an urgent need for a cinnamon bun, come in.
The coffee is hot, the cakes are waiting, Elgvis is watching, and the vibes are excellent.
Yoga is coming to KOS
And there’s more happening this autumn.
Yoga sessions will soon be starting at KOS on Wednesdays and Sundays.
We’ll be sharing full details very soon, but we’re excited to make KOS a place for more than coffee and cake. A little movement, a little relaxation, good company and, if required, a cinnamon bun afterwards sounds like a pretty solid Lofoten Sunday to us.
